Cruz’s Fishermen allow children to invest their own time and resources into not just themselves but into others, by doing so they are building up skills that will not just serve themselves  but will develop others to do the same.

Luke 12:33-34

"Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Cruz’s Fishermen teaches our staff and children the importance of investing into ones community and how it impacts others to do better for the community. We like to think of investing not in monetary means but in spending time and resources on others than one’s self. We teach the best thing to do is in investing in the people that impact our lives as well as many others. A good way to teach children is to have them learn from each other. This teaches the importance of uplifting one another and teaches them to be selfless.

  • Thoughtfulness - The characteristic of thoughtfulness is a great platform for other gifts to be displayed in serving the community. Practicing the ability to think of others and viewing the impact that thinking of ours has on people.
  • Humility - Teaching and demonstrating lessons of lifting others out of the kindness of one’s self. Noticing the bigger picture about someone else other than yourself.

With these seeds being planted there will be a great understanding of humanitarian acts. Time is the greatest gift to give, Cruz’s Fishermen teaches children.
